Host guide: prepare and run a bingo event
Create a Simplebingo game, invite players by link or QR code, and run the draw. Practical preparation and rehearsal tips for hosts.
Prepare your devices and connection
Use an internet-connected computer, tablet, or phone as the host device. Each player opens their card in a browser. No app installation or account registration is needed, but an internet connection is required.
For a large event, check whether the venue Wi-Fi or mobile network can handle simultaneous connections. Projecting the host screen can help everyone follow the numbers and the pace of the game.
Create the game
On a computer, use the creation form on the home page. On a phone, choose the new-game button. Set the title, card size and maximum number, then continue to the profile step. Choose a display name and avatar to create the game and open the host screen.
Use a title and name you are comfortable sharing with the participants. Card size and the maximum number affect the length of play. Try a separate rehearsal game before the event and use the settings guide to understand the estimate.
Invite everyone to the same game
The invite feature offers a copied URL, QR code and social sharing. Give everyone the same invitation link. A player who creates a new game on the home page will be in a separate draw.
Display a QR code large enough to scan from the seats and provide a text link as an alternative. The invitation URL is an entry point to the game, so choose its recipients carefully.
Run the draw and check claims
The host uses Start and Stop to draw numbers. Drawn numbers are shared with the participants. Leave time for players to check their cards before drawing again.
Players tap numbers to mark their cards. Watch the reach and bingo indicators and the player list. Before awarding a prize, check that the claim matches the drawn numbers. Simplebingo does not arrange prizes, ship them or arbitrate event rankings.
Plan for the actual event
Tell participants how ties, late arrivals and the number of winners will be handled. The estimated number of draws concerns the first bingo, not the time needed to award every prize.
Keep using the same browser and avoid clearing its site data or closing a private-browsing session during the event. Losing the anonymous authentication state may prevent you from returning as the same host. Confirm that the event has finished before deleting a game.
